IntroABEL will welcome new students at Breda University of Applied Sciences at the end of August 2025. To introduce students to the city of Breda, Breda University of Applied Sciences and their fellow students, IntroABEL organizes various activities. Conditions have been drawn up for the Built Environment and Logistics courses for the introduction week.
These conditions apply to all students who participate in the introduction week IntroABEL of Breda University of Applied Sciences during the introduction of 2025. By completing the registration form, the participant automatically agrees to the conditions below. Students cannot participate in the introduction week if they do not agree to the conditions.
The following terms are used in the general terms and conditions:
Participant: new first-year or higher-year students participating in the introduction week program. Suppliers of goods and/or services hired by the organization of the introduction week are also regarded as ‘participants’;
Organization of the introduction week: the organizers of IntroABEL 2025 of Breda University of Applied Sciences;
Introduction week: The complete program organized by the organization of the introduction week, including all associated activities
Article 1 – General
1.1 Students may only participate in the introduction week if they have been fully admitted to one of the Built Environment and Logistics courses at Breda University of Applied Sciences.
1.2 External visitors are only admitted to the introduction if the organizers invite them or give their approval. Breda University of Applied Sciences is not responsible for theft of personal property and/or physical or mental injury as a result of participation in the Introduction Week. This also includes a participant’s hearing impairment.
1.3 Personal information such as email addresses, telephone numbers, and personal situations are not shared publicly or with third parties. This information is only shared within the organization when necessary.
1.4 Breda University of Applied Sciences cannot be held liable for any damage to the personal property of participants and visitors.
Article 2 – Agreement
Once an individual has submitted the registration form, the participant agrees with the organization of the introduction week, whereby:
2.1 The participant declares that he has taken note of and agrees to these conditions.
Article 3 – Cancellation
3.1 Students can cancel their registration until xx-xx-xxxx. The registration fee will not be refunded if a person cancels their registration after xx-xx-xxxx.
3.2 The organization of the introduction week reserves the right to cancel the introduction week. They also determine whether there is force majeure (see Article 5) as a result of which the introduction week will be cancelled.
Article 4 – Privacy
4.1 The organization of the introduction week complies with the BUas privacy policy and the GDPR. For more information about BUas’s privacy policy, visit https://www.buas.nl/privacyverklaring and the portal.
4.2 The introduction week takes place via various online resources. Breda University of Applied Sciences or any connecting partners including the organization are not responsible for loss or misuse of personal data via these means.
4.3 At no time are participants permitted to record their screen or take photographs of any online activity linked to the Introduction without informing other participants of that activity.
Article 5 – Circumstances beyond our control
Under certain circumstances, it may be decided to cancel (certain activities of) the program on the grounds of force majeure. If these circumstances are considered irresponsible with a view to safety according to the organization of the introduction week, it may be decided that (the activities within) the introduction week program will be cancelled. This rule includes circumstances such as social unrest, serious disruption of public order, legal prohibitions, government orders, emergency decisions, terrorism, extreme weather, etc. The organizers of the introduction week will determine in consultation with Breda University of Applied Sciences whether these are circumstances beyond their control.
Article 6 – Participation and suspension
6.1 Follow the instructions
Participants must at all times follow the instructions of the organization of the introduction week with a view to safety, order and the actual course of the program. If a participant refuses to follow an instruction, the organization of the introduction week has the right to exclude the participant in question from all further activities of the introduction week.
6.2 Assessing participants’ fitness
6.2.1. Participants are and remain responsible for assessing whether they are in sufficient condition to participate in the introduction week.
6.2.2. The organization of the introduction week has the right to remove a participant from (further) activities of the introduction week if the physical condition of the participant in question endangers the safety of the participant in question or others according to the organization of the introduction week.
6.3 Use of alcohol and/or drugs
6.3.1 The organization of the introduction week has the right to remove a participant from (further) activities of the introduction week if the participant is in a certain state of drunkenness or apparently under the influence of drugs. It is not allowed to use and possess drugs. If a participant is suspected of having drugs and/or drug use, the organization of the introduction week reserves the right to exclude the person in question from further activities of the introduction week. This also applies to (excessive) alcohol use.
6.3.2 Participants under the age of 18 are not permitted to purchase, receive and/or use alcohol. It is also not allowed to sell and/or give alcohol to students under the age of 18.
Article 7 – Calamities and emergencies
In the event of an emergency, the emergency response/evacuation plan comes into effect.
7.1 Participants must immediately follow this plan and act on behalf of the organization of the introduction week. If a participant does not do this, all damage suffered will be at the participant’s own expense, insofar as he can be held liable for it.
7.2 In cases of an emergency, the instructions of both emergency response officers and emergency services must be followed at all times. Therefore, participants will have to be alert to any emergency situations that may arise.
7.3 If a participant sees a situation that could lead to problems, he or she must immediately inform an employee and/or the organization.
Article 8 – Use of images and recordings
During the introduction week, photos and films can be made. By agreeing to the general terms and conditions, the participant agrees that Breda University of Applied Sciences may use them for marketing and communication purposes.
