It is the highest priority of the intro organisers and Breda University of Applied Sciences that everyone can safely participate in IntroABEL. Great value is placed on making you feel safe and welcome during the introduction week. This is done from the moment you arrive until you return home.
You participate in IntroABEL in the class with which you will start your studies. The introduction is organised by senior students and BUas staff. They will be present during the entire introduction event to ensure all activities run smoothly and safely.
During the introduction week, you can contact one of the staff members if you have any concerns. Would you prefer to talk confidentially with a staff member during the intro? Please ask the organisers about this and they will call in the BUas confidential counsellor.
All organisation members have completed a first aid course during the preparations and are therefore able to provide first aid when necessary. During the physical activities of IntroABEL, a professional first aid team will be present to ensure your safety and the safety of your classmates and fellow students.
During the introduction you are not allowed to bring and consume your own alcoholic drinks and drugs, this rule will be strictly enforced. Alcoholic drinks will be served during the introduction event; the NIX18 rule applies. We work with a wristband system that can be used to immediately check whether an underage participant is violating the rules. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas. This also applies to e-cigarettes. NIX18 also applies for this. We have the right to remove people who violate the rules from the location.
IntroABEL conforms the code of conduct of BUas.
“We envision a study environment in which everyone treats each other with respect, in which everyone feels safe and comfortable, and in which you can study successfully.”
We must make clear what we expect from each other, what conduct is desirable, and what we mean by acting ethically and with integrity. The ‘Code of conduct’ of Buas is intended to provide clarity in this respect. If any undesired behaviour does occurs, and you are not able to discuss questions and resolve problems yourself please contact the organisation team of IntroABEL to get in contact with the assigned Buas employee to help you to get in contact with the Buas confidential counsellor.
The organization of IntroABEL has the right to remove the participant who acts contrary to this code of conduct from the event site, without the organization of IntroABEL being obliged to refund the entrance fee.
